Not only is it one of the oldest ski resorts in Europe, but as the birthplace of extreme skiing, the location’s dramatic scenery, vertical drops, challenging runs, and breathtaking off-piste terrain attract the most advanced global athletes. There’s no shortage of stunning views, but we highly recommend hiring a guide to catch a glimpse from Aiguille du Midi (3800m) down through the sweeping valley, which will take your breath away. This energetic town offers a diverse range of accommodations, nightlife, and plenty of non-ski activities including swimming, ice skating, and more.
