Known for its exceptional snow conditions and long skiing season, Ruka provides an expansive network of 24km of pistes. Its excellent facilities cater to both beginners and seasoned skiers, and the resort is renowned for its commitment to high-quality, well-groomed runs and efficient lift systems. Each area is thoughtfully designed to offer unique skiing experiences, seamlessly connected by speedy, modern lifts and enhanced by the magical ambiance of floodlit slopes for night skiing.
Beginners: Ruka is a prime destination for novices, featuring one of Finland’s largest beginner areas. The nursery slopes, particularly around the Rosa & Rudolf Family Park in the quieter Vuosseli region, are perfectly suited for those new to skiing, providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
Intermediates: Intermediate skiers have a wide selection of runs to enjoy, including the less crowded Masto and Pessari reds, which offer great skiing away from the main areas. The terrain is meticulously groomed, ensuring excellent conditions for those looking to refine their skills.
Advanced: While Ruka may not cater extensively to advanced skiers outside of some red slopes and black runs on the north and western side of the mountain, it does boast one of Finland's top freestyle areas, complete with a renowned halfpipe. If the park appeals to you, Ruka offers substantial challenges including steep red slopes and a variety of features in the park.
Snowboarding: The resort is well-suited for snowboarders of all levels, from beginners enjoying the gentle slopes to advanced riders tackling the extensive freestyle park. Note that the resort predominantly features drag lifts, which may require some adjustment for boarders.
Cross-country skiing: Ruka shines in cross-country skiing with 260km of trails offering breathtaking scenery, suitable for both classic and skating styles. The trails are well-lit, allowing for skiing under the enchanting polar twilight and possibly the northern lights, enhancing the magical winter atmosphere.

Dining in Ruka is a delightful experience, with approximately 25 eateries in the resort itself and more in the broader area.
I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other ‘all-inclusive’ sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
