Situated in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 560m, Kaltenbach is a jewel within the Zillertal ski area. Boasting 69km of its own marked runs and access to a vast 489km of downhill skiing within the area, skiers are in for an unparalleled experience. The resort, equipped with 16 ski lifts, ensures smooth connectivity. For added convenience, there is a free bus every 10 minutes that takes skiers to the ski lifts, making it easier to explore neighboring resorts of Aschau im Zillertal, Fügen, and Hochfügen.
Beginners: Perfectly suited for novices, Kaltenbach features a beginner-friendly zone near the valley lift station. The Marendalm area is especially notable for its broad selection of easy slopes. The gentle blue run starting from the Neuhüttenbahn lift and winding down through picturesque landscapes into the valley is a delight for newcomers.
Intermediates: Intermediate skiers will be particularly pleased with Kaltenbach’s offerings. While the blue and red slopes near the Krössbichl and Schnee Express lifts are ideal for a quick warm-up, the descent from the Wimbachkopf peak offers a memorable experience with its scenic tree-lined trail. For those seeking a bit more excitement, the Zillertal Shuttle’s red runs are challenging yet enjoyable.
Advanced: The thrill-seekers will find their adrenaline rush on the demanding pistes of the Pfaffenbühel and the inclines of the Marchkopf. The untouched slopes in the high alpine bowl of Hochfügen await those looking for freeriding opportunities, promising fresh tracks well into spring. For those up for a challenge, the intense black runs from the Holzalm are a must-try.
Snowboarding: Beyond skiing, Kaltenbach is a haven for snowboarders. The snow park near Marendalm is equipped with diverse jumps and rails for showcasing freestyle tricks. And following fresh snowfalls, the areas around the Nordhangbahn and Neuhüttenbahn lifts become a snowboarder’s dream.

Kaltenbach après ski scene is more subdued compared to some of Austria's more renowned ski destinations, such as St. Anton, Ischgl, or Saalbach. That said, Kaltenbach's popular après ski spots include VIP Bar, Cafe Wedelstube, sChic bar and Postalm.
From rustic settings offering classic Tyrolean dishes to more contemporary venues serving a fusion of local and global flavors, some of Kaltenbach's popular restaurants include Postalm, Liebstöckl, "DIE POST", Firnhütte, and Panorama.

I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other ‘all-inclusive’ sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
