Skiing in Zinal

Beginners: Zinal is a welcoming resort for beginners, offering dedicated learning zones and gentle slopes. The nursery area near the mid-mountain restaurant ensures convenience, while the quieter pistes make it easy for novices to gain confidence. Start on the green and blue slopes in the lower areas before progressing to the scenic, wide-open runs higher up.

Intermediates: Intermediates will enjoy Zinal’s wide variety of red and blue pistes, offering the perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment. Highlights include the long, sweeping runs in the Sorebois sector, which provide stunning views of the Imperial Crown peaks. For a change of scenery, venture into the connected Grimentz area via the cable car for even more runs and sunny slopes.

Advanced: Advanced skiers will find plenty of thrills in Zinal. The resort features challenging black runs, such as Le Col, and excellent off-piste opportunities. The technical terrain in the freeride area, Garde de Bordon, is ideal for seasoned skiers and snowboarders. This dedicated freeride zone, spanning 100 hectares, offers steep descents and dramatic walls, perfect for those seeking adrenaline-fueled adventures.

Snowboarding: Zinal is a freerider's dream, with unmarked slopes and a high-altitude freeride area between 2,400m and 3,000m. For freestyle enthusiasts, the Grimentz-Zinal snow park features kickers, rails, and jibs for all levels, while the nearby kids’ snow park provides a beginner-friendly environment to try out freestyle moves.
